Are you tired of the hot and humid weather? Are you looking for a place to visit where you can enjoy outdoor activities in a very cool climate? Then, it is time to pack your things and off we go to the summer capital of the Philippines, Baguio City.

If you are planning to go to Baguio, you need to bring some warm clothes as the weather might be a little cold to those who are not accustomed to cold weather. From Manila, it will take about five hours by bus going to the city. It is suggested to leave for Baguio at night as you arrive in the early morning in the city.

Baguio City is very famous for its wonderful tourist spots that will definitely make tourists happy and satisfied.


First stop, explore the Burnham Park. If you are up for a stroll in a breezy cold morning or a run in the afternoon, the Burnham Park is perfect. Other attractions in the park include the Children’s Playground, a man-made lake where you can rowboats with friends and family, the Rose Garden, a Picnic Grove, the Japanese Peace Tower, Pine Trees of the World and the Sunshine Park. If you feel hungry, there are some stores where you can buy local delicacies and try their famous strawberry taho.

Next, we have the breath-taking Mines View Park. Here, you will find a great view of Benguet’s gold and copper mines. Also, you will find great buys for souvenirs in Mines View Park. Great souvenir items such as shirts, key chains, lanterns, or home ornaments can be purchased here. However, if you are up for some adventure, try horseback riding or take photos with huge St. Bernard dogs in this park.

The Botanical Garden in Baguio is a must see. A perfect place for relaxation and a picnic, the Botanical Garden features relics from Igorot Village and some Cordillera huts. Bask in the sun, take pictures, and enjoy the nice weather in Baguio here in Botanical Garden.




You will also find The Mansion, the official residence of the President of the Philippines, in Baguio City. Tourists are not allowed to go inside but taking pictures from the gate is okay.

With the number of tourists going to Baguio, the economy of the city has also been affected. For the past years, Baguio has been developing as more and more investors are putting up business like hotels, restaurants and even review centers for those people who are intending to take the IELTS or the International English Language Testing System examination. The existence of such review centers shows that Baguio has been receiving lots of individuals who are planning to work or study abroad.

Indeed, Baguio City is a perfect place for relaxation or just a few days off from the busy city life. Not only is the city a good place to visit but also a perfect place to train for English proficiency examination. Baguio has it all.
